I don't understand people. I truly don't. I am not going to name any names in this, obviously, but I will use examples.
I don't understand why people don't take rehearsals seriously.
It's frustrating because the director has specifically asked us to meet early to get warmed up for rehearsal and get in the mindset needed for a Shakespeare.... yes, people have shown up earlier, but they've also brought their dinner with them.
Ick.
For me, this has been one of the best rehearsal experiences so far. The last two were frustrating as HELL, both for different reasons, so this has been great!
For Putnam, we had two differing opinions on how the show should be presented, and were being told different things.
For You Can't Take it with You we just had so much immaturity. Usually when a director says take five, you take five minutes. Somehow, breaks would be stretched from 10 minutes, and then 15 minutes because people were goofing around. The show itself turned out great!
I've always been one who despises a process.
I have always wanted to play the piano. Not learn how to, but just KNOW.
But for some reason, I've really allowed myself enjoy this, and explore.
I am however, wanting to go to rehearsals that don't feel like a classroom.
C'mon professional world!!!
I'm proud of you. That is all <3
ReplyDeleteI hope everyone realizes that while goofing off is fun, theatre is actually what they're THERE for. I second Jamie's comment: I'm proud of you.
