Classes have officially begun. My schedule kind of blows, yet works out nicely at the same time. Does that make sense?
Probably not. So I'll explain.
Monday- Class from 9-2 with an hour break. Rehearsals from 7-10 work from 11pm- 3am.
Tuesday- Class from 11-2. Rehearsal 7-10
Wednesday- Class from 9-2 Rehearsal 7-10. Work from 11pm-3am
Thursday- Production meeting 8:00 am (these will kill me) Class from 11-2. Rehearsals 7-10
Friday- Class 9-12. Work 4-7. Rehearsals 7-10.
I say the schedule blows but works out is that fact that I work those night shifts. It will suck so hard working, but at least I have a job where I can do my homework while I'm there.
Right now the department is at ACTF in Ames, Iowa. It feels weird not being there with them. Alas, I had to be responsible. Since I am going to Chicago for URTA's I decided that missing that much school would be detrimental to my grades. It's hard making things up, especially this early. I can't tell how the professor teaches class. A little quiz here, a little quiz there, it all adds up and I cannot allow my grades to slip. No no no no no no no no no no way.
We have auditions coming up. I'm so pumped!!!
Also here in the next couple of weeks I'm going to see "In the Next Room or the Vibrator Play" at the Unicorn in Kansas City. I've heard great things about the theatre, and the play is so beautiful. I urge anyone to read it. The title of the play is misleading. There is nothing crude about it. It's about the coming of sexuality. It revolves around a married couple. The husband a doctor who treats women hysteria by using a vibrator on them. It is set in the 1880's before the views of sex are like they are today. It really is a beautiful piece of theatre and if you can't see it, READ IT!
I get up at 6 every monday and wednesday to I can catch the early shuttle. The late work schedule will make it really, really hard, but you can do it!
ReplyDeleteI really want to read that play...thanks for the recommendation!
It's a little sad you didn't go to ACTF...I think that's what I miss about undergrad the most...stuff like that.
"Coming into sexuality."
ReplyDeleteThat's all.
